Artist Statement

Caiyang Yin (also known as Curtis Yin) is an award-winning contemporary jewellery artist based in Glasgow, U.K.

Being regarded as one of best emerging jewellery artists with unique talents in the UK, Caiyang has developed most of his with sculptural aesthetics, in which both traditional and modern techniques are adopted to deliver the artist’s ideas, especially about people’s statement of mind in the current fast-paced society.

He believes contemporary jewellery is the embodiment of people’s emotions or attitudes, therefore, contemporary jewellery is not necessarily pleasing in the general aesthetic value if it makes enough sense.
